October 2024

  1. A first-author manuscript regarding the inference of critical behavior using generative machine learning was pre-printed on the arXiv.

September 2024

  1. I'm starting a new position as a postdoctoral research associate in Kresten Lindorff-Larsen's group at Københavns Universitet.

July 2024

  1. I helped teach a Python bootcamp hosted by Pratyush Tiwary at the University of Maryland, College Park.
June 2024
  1. My co-first author paper on comparing the SPIB method to MSM standards for ultralong protein folding trajectories has been published in The Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation.

April 2024

  1. I presented very preliminary and incomplete results regarding the calculations of thermodynamics for reactions coordiantes in a system of Gay-Berne ellipsoids and using diffusion models to infer the behavior of the system at unobserved (to the model) phase points at the IMSI workshop for learning collective variables and coarse grained models.
  2. I am co-author (co-first author in name only!) on a pre-print of a joint paper between the Tiwary Lab at UMD and Xuhui Huang's group at UW-Madison regarding a detailed comparison of traditional and machine-learning approaches for Markov state model construction. The paper has also been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal.

March 2024

  1. I was awared the ACS Wiley Computers in Chemistry Outstanding postdoc award in person at the 2024 ACS spring meeting in New Orleans, LA...laissez les bons temps rouler!
  2. I also concurrently recycled my poster from the Gordon research conference on protein folding from two months prior and presented it again. I was hoping to present on some more recent research involving phase transitions in NVT simulations of a melt of Gay-Berne particles, but I haven't make neough progress...
  3. I have more-or-less withdrawn from the 2024 academic year faculty hiring cycle after receiving two phone interviews but no on-campus interviews and no offers. Time to look for a second postdoctoral research position...

February 2024

  1. I presented some of my research from the past two years at the LCB seminar (basically the joint group meeting between Rich Pastor and Bernie Brooks' groups) at the NIH.

January 2024

  1. My first author paper on hydrophobic ligand unbinding in water has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Physical Chemistry B.
  2. I also presented a poster outlining the studies done in the manuscript at the 2024 Gordon research conference for protein folding in Galveston, TX.

October 2023

  1. I gave a talk titled "Learning Thermodynamics for Rare Events in Biology" at the recurring, virtual Statistical Thermodynamics and Molecular Simulations seminar series.
  2. Somehow, someway, through some incredibly rare fluctuation, I have been awarded a Wiley Computers in Chemistry outstanding postdoc award by ACS COMP for the Spring 2024 ACS meeting in New Orleans, LA.
  3. A pre-print of my first author paper on hydrophobic ligand unbinding in water has been submitted to the arXiv.

September 2023

  1. I presented an invited talk titled "Modeling the slow dynamics of biological systems over a range of time- and lengthscales" as the speaker for the informal statistical physics seminar at the Institute for Physical Science and Technology at the University of Maryland, College Park.

August 2023

  1. I presented a talk (and poster) titled "Machine-learned reaction coordinates for hydrophobic ligand binding" at the 2023 iPOLS conference in Atlanta, GA.

July 2023

  1. I was first author on a review article titled "Recent advances in describing and driving crystal nucleation using machine learning and artificial intelligence" that has been accepted for publication in Current Opinion in Solid State and Materials Science

February 2023

  1. I was co-first author with Ziyue Zou on a paper titled "Driving and characterizing nucleation of urea and glycine polymorphs in water" published in PNAS
  2. I gave a short talk titled "Machine-learned reaction coordinates for energy-entropy disentanglement" at the Brin workshop for rare events.
